The hotels in Lenggries are mostly situated in the main part of the village - on the other side of the river from the ski slopes.
The town itself is also officially classed as a "Luftkurort" - a resort where people stay to take advantage of the healthy climate - and has its own sanatorium as well as a number of wellness facilities.

Distance to Innsbruck Airport: 91km
Distance to Munich Airport: 95km
Distance to Salzburg Airport: 133km
Lenggries is about the same distance from each of the region's international airports.
Innsbruck Airport is the closest to Lenggries. Innsbruck has long been known as a popular destination for ski charter flights - especially from the northern European countries - but the introduction of lower-fare scheduled flights from major destinations like London has made it into a real option for those flying from further afield.
One route from the airport runs via Lake Achen and into Germany to the south of Lenggries. Another variant takes the driver over the Seefeld plateau and either on normal roads via the Mittenwald to Bad Tölz or on the motorway north of Garmisch-Partenkirchen to the junction for Bad Tölz. In normal conditions the journey time should be around one-and-a-half hours.
Most visitors who are using scheduled flights will still probably arrive at Munich Airport, as it is the major international gateway for this part of Europe.
The expanding airport is located a good 30 minutes to the north-east of the city and drivers should sty on the motorway heading in the direction of Salzburg until the turn-off for Bad Tölz is reached. The journey should take around one-and-a-half hours but the motorway can be very busy on a peak season Saturday.
Salzburg Airport, with a mix of ski charters and cheap scheduled flights, is also an option, and again the journey time can be estimated at around one-and-a-half hours.
Motorists should follow the signs for Munich from on leaving Salzburg Airport and then leave the motorway at Irschenberg in the direction of Bad Tölz.
Lenggries railway station is located near the centre of the town and is served by the Bayerische Oberlandbahn from Munich's main railway station.
Trains run every hour from Munich Airport and the journey takes approximately two hours. Take the S-Bahn from the airport and then change at Munich-Donnersbergerbrücke onto the Oberlandbahn.
